Paul Young & his wife Bec

Senior Pastor

Paul lived in Perth most of his life but did not grow up in a ‘Christian’ family. Being the only pastoral member on the team, you’ll find him also trying to be the receptionist, administrator, and pastor at the same time (with varying levels of success).

His faith started when he first learnt and heard that God was gracious and forgiving and that Jesus had died for him. God was big enough to handle his doubts and questions, of which he had plenty.

Paul failed at professional golf, which led him to become a social worker and, eventually, a pastor.

Paul is married to Bec and they are the parents of Samuel, Lucas, and Lily, who all love toy hedgehogs.

Bec grew up in Darwin. She was raised in a Christian family, was a ministry trainee at a university, and now works as a dentist.

After some time studying theology on the East Coast and serving in other church startups, they are now back in Perth with Providence Bayswater. They have the same desire: to spread the hope of Jesus in a world in desperate need of hope.

They’ve both experienced church plants that have reached lots of people who don’t go to church – and they’re convinced that the risks of starting something new are absolutely worth it.
