We were grateful to have Rick Pekan from Bible Society Australia share with Prov a few Sunday’s ago about Translation of the Bible into the Noongar Language of the Southwest. He gave us video testimony and stories of the impact of Bible translation on language, culture and the faith of Noongar Christians. If you missed it, you can see the video here.

The work of Bible Translation into Aboriginal languages provides people with God’s word in a way they connect with. It brings immense joy and healing to individuals and their communities, as expressed by Noongar translator Charmaine Councillor:

For that person that wants to revive their language and do Bible translation, you can never overestimate how much joy and healing it can bring to you as an individual people, in the nation, and healing on country.

Roslyn Khan, also a Noongar Bible translator, adds to this by saying,

God gave us our languages. It connects us and our identity. Without him we would not have language. As he restores our language, he restores our soul.

If you would like to consider a tax-deductible donation to this specific work, you can do so here. Rick is happy to be contacted at rick.pekan@biblesociety.org.au if you have further questions about translation or Bible Society Australia.
