Rory was born and raised in Albany, Western Australia. He studied English and anthropology at UWA. He is married to Susan, and they have four boys. Rory studied theology at Moore College, and has a PhD in Australian church history. He writes regularly on theology, culture, and ministry.

Rory serves as the senior pastor of Providence City, where he has overall responsibility for preaching, vision, and direction of the church.

Jon is married to Jessamy, and they have three school-age kids and a super cute cat. Jon serves at Providence City as our Executive Pastor, guiding and directing the staff team to help make stuff happen.

Robbie is married to Jasmine, and they have two children. Robbie has a commerce degree and worked in the finance sector before completing studies at Trinity Theological College.

Robbie has been on the Prov team since November 2015. He is the congregation pastor of the 10:30am service at TSH. And, he also works as the operations director for the Providence Network of churches.

Matt is married to Naomi and they’ve got two fun and beautiful boys. Originally from the Snowy Mountains of NSW, Matt spent 20 years in Sydney serving in a number of churches before finally making his way to Perth in 2025 (also known as the Promised Land).

Matt likes (and needs) hats and wears two at Providence City. He oversees Worship and Care, serving the church by helping shape gatherings that glorify God and fostering a community marked by genuine care and pastoral support.

Hayden and his beautiful wife Katelyn spend most of their time raising their two energetic toddler girls. With his remaining time, he serves Providence City in the Youth and Mission spaces.

Hayden recently completed his Masters of Divinity at Trinity Theological College and before entering ministry worked as a creative in the advertising industry.

He loves playing sports with friends, going to the beach, and catching up for a coffee. In both his roles, Hayden is passionate about helping our church be in the world, but not of the world, for the glory of God.

Ann was born in the USA but grew up in Taiwan from three years of age. She moved to Perth to live at 15, committing to be a Christian whilst at university through campus ministry.

Ann has a background as a high school science teacher. She studied at Trinity Theological College before working at Murdoch University as a senior staff worker for AFES for the last two years.

She loves reading, camping and making memories with her family. One of her passions is teaching the Bible and teaching people to teach the Bible.

Ann leads the ProvKids ministry. If you want to know more about ProvKids and how to get involved, you can speak to Ann.

Nic is married to Adrienne, dad to Montgomery. He loves that he is from the small town of Perth. While currently a student at Trinity Theological College, he previously left uni with a degree in physiotherapy and then ended up working in public health policy and research.

Before joining the team, Nic completed a two-year church planting residency elsewhere in WA.

Matt is married to Tess, and they have two daughters. After teaching for a few years, Matt and Tess decided to do ministry apprenticeships in London. They loved their time there but are glad they call Perth home.

Matt loves rugby, running, and used to have time for reading. He is responsible for Prov City’s ministry apprenticeship program and is the 10:30am UWA congregation pastor.

Sam grew up in the Perth hills with his two brothers and two sisters. After graduating from WAAPA with a degree in music, he started working as a composer, music producer and piano teacher. Sam is married to Chelsea, and when he is not in the studio, you might find him cycling, hiking or getting thrashed in a game of chess.

Sam works two days a week and is the person to speak to if you want to know more about joining the music teams.

Evelyn grew up in Perth. She studied pharmacy at Curtin and graduated in 2016. She did her pharmacy internship in Kalgoorlie before returning to Perth to work as a pharmacist in the public system.

She enjoys catching up with friends, watching sport, and making paper crafts.

As a ministry apprentice, Evelyn is part of the Providence City Ministry Team. Evelyn’s apprenticeship will focus on growing her in Christian character, theological convictions, and ministry skills.

Caleb loves Jesus and loves people. What brings him joy is helping people flourish and come to know Jesus. He’s grateful to have the opportunity to learn, grow and serve Providence City in and through a Ministry Apprenticeship.

When not wrangling his two delightful daughters, Caleb enjoys a coffee with his wife, a surf in the south west or having a meaningful conversation on his podcast or with a friend.

As a ministry apprentice, Caleb is part of the Providence City Ministry Team. Caleb’s apprenticeship will focus on growing him in Christian character, theological convictions, and ministry skills.

Aksel was born in Perth but spent most of his time growing up in Mount Barker, a small town north of Albany. After completing a Cert IV in Christian Ministry and Theology through Albany Baptist Church and a Diploma of Theology at Trinity Theological College, he decided to continue his pathway towards ministry by doing a Ministry Apprenticeship.

Aksel enjoys playing music, playing ultimate frisbee, hanging out with friends and watching the footy.

As a ministry apprentice, Aksel is part of the Providence City Ministry Team. Aksel’s apprenticeship will focus on growing him in Christian character, theological convictions, and ministry skills.

Joel leads the Ministry Support Team as well as provide operational support.

Joel has been involved in various fields, from project management to piano moving, but reckons his current role at Providence City is his best job yet!

Married to Sabrina, they have three children. Outside of work, Joel loves soccer and cycling. In the early morning you can catch him riding his bike, and late at night he’ll be watching his favourite soccer team, Arsenal.

Joel is the go-to person for all things ministry support and operations. He ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Alex was born and raised in Perth and lives in the same home he grew up in. He studied History in Canberra but realised becoming a historian was too hard.

Alex provides part-time administrative support to the ministry team. Outside of work, Alex studies at theological college, tries to read and catch up with people, and likes to learn about history, languages and culture.

Naomi is married to Matt, and together they’re raising two highly energetic sons who keep life loud, joyful, and never boring. 

With a background in communications, graphic design, and theology, Naomi loves making the world a more beautiful place, one word and graphic at a time.

Naomi is provides communications and administration support to the Ministry Team. You can chat to her if you’re interested in serving on the Creative Team, or if you want to nerd out about fonts, words, and good design.

Callum was born and raised in Busselton, but moved to Perth and found Providence City to be his home in early 2024.

During the week he works part-time at Bunnings, and is currently completing his Certificate in Christian Studies at Trinity Theological College. Outside of this he loves to catch up with friends for an occasional rock climbing session, or a quiet moment to read a book or watch a movie.

Callum’s role at Providence is to make sure that all logistical aspects of the Sunday services at UWA are running smoothly. So if you think you’ve lost something at church, need to know where to fill up your water bottle, or want to have a chat around the refreshments table, Callum would love to help with that.

Through Virtual Church Assist, Tamara works remotely alongside Rory as his Executive Assistant (EA). She manages his calendar and emails and helps make sure that there’s time and space for him to focus on his job rather than administration.

She lives in Wollongong, NSW, with her husband, James, and their son, Charlie, where they love the beach, good coffee, and their local church community.
