We want to keep Jesus central. His power causes his church to grow in both breadth and depth. And by his grace He may help us to create the next link in the chain in the eastern suburbs.
The seeds of Providence Church Midland were planted when several people became Christians in the eastern suburbs of Perth in 2011.
They started meeting together in a household group with a number of people who attended Providence City Church. Soon after, along with some gospel minded families from Providence City, we made the prayerful decision to plant out a distinct expression of church in Midland, one that had the same gospel commitment as Providence City.
By God’s grace, the number of people attending grew, so that we became two household groups, and then three. Every second week we would gather together in a building in central Midland.
In 2013 we made the decision to move to a weekly gathering, while committing to reach out into Midland with the gospel. Since then we have had a few building moves, but have maintained a strong gospel community DNA.
We don’t fully know what shape Providence Midland will take going into the future, but whatever it is we will keep Jesus central. His power causes his church to grow in both breadth and depth. And by his grace He may help us to create the next link in the chain in the eastern suburbs, saving people for his glory and helping us to plant out from Midland, just as we were planted out from the City.
